Janice

Community Outreach Coordinator

 

Janice is the co-founder of The Horse's Touch, Inc. and has 30 years' experience in the field of massage therapy where she specializes in using breathing techniques to help patients deal with difficult life changes. 

Janice's daughter participated in a Shelburne-based therapy program where Janice saw firsthand the enormous influence the program had on her daughter's development in a short period of time.  She has a strong desire to make these offerings available to others.  

Janice is also a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist and plans to integrate rhythm and relaxation techniques into our programs.

Susie

Instructor and Program Director

 

Susie is a PATH Certified Instructor and the co-founder of the The Horse's Touch, Inc..   Previous to this incarnation she ran The Horse's Touch, L3C, offering therapeutic and beginner riding instruction. as well as an inclusive summer Pony Camp program. 

 

Susie continuously integrates the principles of other areas of study into her teaching, including animal assisted therapy, art therapy, Natural Lifemanship skills and Holistic Horsemanship.  She is also an Equine Homeopath, intuitive healer and a columnist and contributing writer for Equine Wellness Magazine on the subject of homeopathy.

Hilary

Advisory Board Member

 

Hilary is an Advisory Board Member for The Horse's Touch and brings a wealth of knowledge and creative, outside-the-box thinking to the organization.  Hilary co-founded The Philo Center, a nonprofit organization providing occupational therapy for children and adults with special needs in Shelburne, VT.  She has raised a special needs child and is also a horse owner.  She understands the power of horses to transform.  Hilary is also an active board member for Inclusive Arts of Vermont, a not-for-profit arts and education organization, using the arts to engage the capabilities of children and adults with disabilities. 

Heidi

Equine Therapy Advocate and Herd Care Assistant

 

Heidi is a Registered Nurse specializing in the field of Hospice and Palliative care.  Areas of experience include grief, trauma, and significant life changes.  Heidi integrates clinical skills with that of the healing abilities of horses and has witnessed, as well as experienced firsthand, the positive effects it can have on one's behavioral health and well being.  She is thrilled to be a member of The Horse's Touch team where she assists in cultivating compassion, kindness and confidence in others that extends beyond the ring.
