Instructor and Program Director
Susie is a PATH Certified Instructor and was the Founder of the The Horse's Touch in its non-profit form. Prior to partnering with Janice to establish the organization as a non-profit, 501(c)3, she ran The Horse's Touch, L3C with her daughter, Andie, offering therapeutic and beginner riding instruction, as well as an inclusive summer Pony Camp program. Susie integrates multiple areas of study into her teaching and is also an Equine Homeopath, intuitive healer and contributing writer for Equine Wellness Magazine on the subject of homeopathy.
Advisory Board Member
Hilary is an Advisory Board Member for The Horse's Touch and brings a wealth of knowledge and creative, outside-the-box thinking to the organization. Hilary co-founded The Philo Center, a nonprofit organization providing occupational therapy for children and adults with special needs in Shelburne, VT. She has raised a special needs child and is also a horse owner. She understands the power of horses to transform. Hilary is also an active board member for Inclusive Arts of Vermont, a not-for-profit arts and education organization, using the arts to engage the capabilities of children and adults with disabilities.
Instructor and Equine Specialist
Heidi is an EAGALA Certified Equine Specialist and the owner of Heart & Heritage Stables where she ran a thriving lesson program and pony camp for many years. Heidi is intent on creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where people can come enjoy their horse without competition and get away from the hustle of the outside world. The result is a uniquely welcoming and healing atmosphere. Heidi is also the co-founder of Unbridled Ways, offering equine-assisted coaching and psychotherapy.
Community Outreach Coordinator
Janice is the co-founder of The Horse's Touch, Inc. and has 30 years' experience in the field of massage therapy where she specializes in using breathing techniques to help patients deal with difficult life changes. She is also a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
Janice's daughter participated in a Shelburne-based therapy program where Janice saw firsthand the enormous influence the program had on her daughter's development in a short period of time. She has a strong desire to make these offerings available to others.
